Ultrasound exams

When you are scheduled for an ultrasound exam in our office, please follow these instructions and check in at our front desk when you arrive.

An ultrasound exam consists of applying a clear, easily washable lubricant over you skin and applying a small instrument to the area to be examined.  Sound waves are passed through and an image of the organ to be examined is obtained.  These are easy and painless exams and will usually be completed in less than 30 minutes.  A report of the exam is given to the doctor by the technologist, and then interpreted by a radiologist.
